Dive into the heart of the Second World War in Normandy
All year long, the Château du Taillis offers you the opportunity to visit its August 1944 museum.
The Battle of Normandy ended on the banks of the River Seine. The purpose of this museum is thus to recall the tragic hours of combat, and then the hours of relief following the Liberation.
Thanks to the accounts of soldiers and civilians, all of them witnesses to the terrible combat, and through thousands of objects, weapons and soldiers’ uniforms, you can come learn about the history of the final battles on the Seine.
Every May 8th week-end, a historic reconstruction takes place in the Château du Taillis, to commemorate 8 May 1945. With over 250 soldiers present and camp reconstructions.
